Hardware receipts are hard to work with: thermal paper fades, and item lines are abbreviated codes that mean little to an accountant. Take a photo of each receipt (several on one table is fine) or drop the PDFs, and get a spreadsheet with the date, store, a readable summary of what you bought, sales tax and total. If you own rentals, the Schedule E template adds a Property column so you can say which unit each purchase was for.

Can it read faded receipts?
It reads what is still visible. Very faded totals are flagged for review so you can check them against the receipt image shown next to the row.
Does it decode the abbreviated item names?
It expands abbreviations when the meaning is clear and writes a short plain-English summary. Unclear lines keep the original text.
Can I split purchases by rental property?
Yes. The Schedule E template adds a Property column. Type the address once per row and the summary tab groups totals by property and category.
