Sole proprietors and single-member LLCs report business expenses on Schedule C by line: advertising, car and truck, office expense, supplies, travel, deductible meals and so on. Drop a year's worth of receipts and get an Excel file with two tabs: every receipt with its suggested Schedule C line, and a summary with the total for each line. Categories are suggestions you can change in the table before downloading. This is not tax advice, so review it with your tax preparer.

Why it’s slow by hand

Why Schedule C prep takes so long

  • Hundreds of receipts must each be assigned to an expense line.
  • Totals per line have to be added up by hand.
  • Meals, travel and supplies are easy to mix up.
